India's First B2B Expo-Summit Built Around Carbon Readiness

About GreenEdge

Not a policy conference
A commercial alignment platform

GreenEdge India is India’s first B2B expo-summit built exclusively around carbon-linked export compliance. The framing is deliberate: CBAM is a market access and trade survival issue, not an ESG aspiration. Every session, every exhibitor, and every structured interaction connects exporters with the tools, finance, auditors, and international buyers they need to remain competitive in a carbon-regulated world.

GreenEdge is the only platform in India where compliance obligation and commercial decision-making converge — in one room, in one day.

The CBAM Reality

The carbon clock is running.
Your EU export margins are under pressure.

CBAM is no longer a compliance calendar entry — it is a live financial obligation. Every tonne of embedded carbon in goods shipped to the EU now carries a certificate cost, priced against the EU Emissions Trading System. Indian manufacturers in CBAM-covered sectors face this obligation without domestic carbon credit offset, as India’s carbon market is still being established. The FTA secured a technical dialogue mechanism and MFN protection on future EU concessions — but no exemption, no grace period, no sector carve-out.

Export Value at Stake

Iron and steel dominate India's CBAM-covered exports to the EU — the vast majority by value, with aluminium as the second-largest category. Together these sectors represent a significant share of India's total goods exports to Europe, all now subject to embedded-carbon levies at the border.

Margins Under Pressure

India's reliance on coal-based energy and blast furnace steelmaking gives Indian producers significantly higher embedded carbon per tonne vs EU benchmarks. Higher-emission exporters face a direct compliance cost: EU importers pass certificate obligations back through commercial contracts, compressing margins each quarter.

Trade Already Shifting

EU buyers are already pre-qualifying suppliers on carbon intensity. Indian export volumes in CBAM-covered categories have softened — reflecting buyer caution, discount demands, and tighter data scrutiny — even before certificate surrender obligations peak. The market is reordering now.

Low-Carbon Producers
Emissions close to EU benchmarks. Compliance cost passed to buyers with minimal margin impact. First-mover compliance becomes a differentiated selling proposition in EU procurement.
High-Emission Producers
CBAM compounds year on year as EU ETS free allowances phase out. Exporters face the choice of absorbing the levy, reducing prices, or investing in decarbonisation — all with near-term financial impact.
Non-Compliant Producers
Without verified MRV data, exporters are assessed at EU default emission values — which are conservative and typically higher than actual plant-level emissions. Non-compliance means loss of EU market access, not merely higher costs.
